HOW PROTECTED IS YOUR TRANSMISSION

FAILURE – Why it Happens

Nine out of every ten transmission failures are the result of heating and fluid contamination. Just like the oil in your car’s engine, automatic transmission fluid suffers from heat, friction and degradation. This process causes the vital components in your transmission to clog with sludge and varnish deposits.

FAILURE – How to Avoid it

All of the contaminated Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) must be drained from the system. The components of the transmission must be cleaned, and the old fluid replaced with fresh ATF.

FLUSH, DRAIN, FILTER CHANGE – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

Many customers call us looking to flush their transmission only because that is what some one told them to do; but it’s often not what their car needs. A flush pumps fluid into the transmission while pumping the old fluid out and replaces 100% of the fluid. A Drain-and-Fill service removes about 40% while a filter but is a more cost efficient. A filter change is the most common service and can replace about 70% of the fluid, but more importantly a fresh filter! Which one does you need depends on your car and driving habits. TRANSMISSION COOLER – A TRANSMISSION’S BEST FRIEND

A transmission that works extra hard towing a trailer or sitting in rush hour traffic generates excessive heat, which can cause deterioration of the transmission fluid and premature failure. Installation of a supplemental transmission cooler can help keep the transmission temperature in check and even prevent the radiator from boiling over.
